My name is Micaela and I am super passionate about my place in the beauty industry!
I took a different road to get here though... I first tried out community college in Breckenridge, CO before finally listening to my heart and pursuing an education at the Douglas J Aveda Institute of Grand Rapids, MI. Not long after graduation I had the opportunity to work as a national educator with L'ANZA Healing Haircare for 5 years.
This has helped me to not only hone my hair cutting and coloring skills and knowledge, but has also enabled me to visit various parts of the country all in the name of hair!
I was first drawn to the salon environment as a child when my mother, who pursued a career in cosmetology in her 20's and 30's, would bring me along with her to the salon. I could not get enough of the happiness and positive energy that exudes from a guest when they get their hair done! It is a truly magical feeling to help others to see themselves as beautiful!
When I'm not at the salon I am a beach fanatic!
After growing up on Cape Cod, MA and living apart from the ocean for over 10 years, the Lowcountry is the perfect place for me to call home. In 2020 along with my two adorable pitbulls, Remi and Raja, I made our presence in this beautiful ocean-side city even more permanent by buying my first house!
I love to cook in my new kitchen and I'm having a blast decorating in my downtime. Some of my other hobbies include reading, yoga, thrifting, travel and listening to true crime podcasts!
If I'm truly treating myself to a "best day ever" I would enjoy some lunch and a cocktail at my favorite restaurant, Jack of Cups Saloon, and take a nice long walk along Folly Beach searching for seashells and sand dollars; I'd finish the day out with an ice cream cone as I watch the sunset.
